Elementary Social Sciences Kindergarten - 6th Grade
We understand the importance of having well-educated and active citizens for our democracy to function effectively. That's why our social studies education, covering civics, economics, geography, and history, aims to prepare your child to be an informed and involved member of our community.
Our social sciences and history learning activities are designed to give students the tools they need to spark curiosity as they:
- Think Critically: Your child will learn how to ask important questions, gather information, and make sense of changes over time. This helps them see the big picture and understand how past events influence current situations.
- Read and Analyze: They will explore a wide range of historical and contemporary texts, learning to interpret what they read and think about the deeper meanings behind the words. This builds their ability to assess information from different angles.
- Communicate Clearly: We focus on helping your child express their ideas confidently, whether through writing or speaking. They'll learn to build strong arguments, consider various viewpoints, and discuss important topics thoughtfully.
This focus on inquiry ties closely with the skills they're developing in English Language Arts—like reading, writing, speaking, and listening. By integrating these skills across subjects, we make sure that our students are not just learning facts; they're learning how to think and communicate effectively, preparing them to thrive in every aspect of their lives.
