Elementary Science Kindergarten - 6th Grade
Students will experience hands-on, real-world exploration opportunities to help develop a passion for science. Students will work collaboratively, facilitate critical thinking skills, and make connections to their prior knowledge. Students will be exposed to STEM careers related to their topic as well as STEM Projects and Engineering Design Challenges.
Every three-dimensional unit begins with a captivating "phenomenon" or a problem, such as investigating the physics behind roller coasters. Students engage with this phenomenon, employing their scientific toolkit (Dimension 1) and unifying concepts (Dimension 2) to explore the underlying scientific principles (Dimension 3). Picture them analyzing the forces at play in roller coaster design, collecting data on roller coaster speeds and heights, and even proposing new roller coaster designs – all while learning about energy, motion, and engineering!
